Questions Volunteers Ask

Do I need an account to respond to opportunities?

Yes. You must be logged in with an existing account to respond to an opportunity. If you try to respond but are not logged in, you'll see a pop-up that gives you the option of logging in or, if you do not already have an account, creating an account. Once you are logged in to your account, you'll be returned to the opportunity page to complete your response.

Can I sign up for a login with the same email address that my spouse already used?

No. Each login to the site requires a unique email address, one that has not been previously used to register on the site.

Can you change my password?

Site managers can absolutely change passwords, but so can volunteers! If you forget your password, no worries! You can click the Forgot Your Password link on the login page. From there, you will be asked to enter your email address, and Get Connected will send you a password reset link.

How do it respond to an opportunity?

There are a few different ways to do that. From your spotlight or dashboard, select the location you are interested in and from there you will see all the needs associated with that event. You can click Opportunities in the left pane to learn more!

How do I sign up to receive text messages?

Volunteers can sign up to receive emails from the MWOA Action Network portal by following the steps on the Signing Up for Text Messaging page.

How do I add hours that I volunteered during an opportunity?

Volunteers can log their hours either by going to their Add Hours button on the top of their screen, or Utilizing Self Check-In.

How can I print and share my volunteer hours?

You can export your hours from an Hours tab, or you can really have some fun and download an attractive, easy-to-read volunteer résumé that highlights your volunteer activity for a selected date range. This print-out includes graphs showing volunteer hours by month and what types of volunteer work has been done. The data shown on the résumé is pulled from your need responses and submitted volunteer hours. You can learn how to access and utilize the résumé here!

How do I stop receiving emails?

All site users have the option of "opting out" of all messages coming from your site, including email blasts and automated notifications. Volunteers can opt out using two methods:

  • By clicking the Unsubscribe link included in email messages generated from your site.
  • By going to their profile and changing the email setting, as described in Managing Your Volunteer Profile.
  • Please remember that as your volunteer opportunity get closer, we will want to contact you with details about your shift.

How do I stop receiving text messages?

Volunteers can opt out (stop) of receiving emails from the MWOA Action Network portal by following the steps on the Opting Out of Text Messaging page.

Need more help?

A volunteer's best bet is to reach out to their local site manager. Use the Contact Us button at the bottom of every page. When a user clicks Contact Us, their email system will open with an email that is addressed to our platform's manager, who should be able to answer all the good questions about the site. You can also find a plethora of articles and videos just for volunteers in the Volunteer Section of the Help Center!
